Bordeaux P2: Full schedule for qualifications
The Betclic Bordeaux Premier Padel P2 gets underway this Sunday with the first round of the men's qualifications. For French padel, the opening day already promises an intense schedule: numerous Tricolores are on court from Q1, the programme features several high-profile clashes, and every match can be followed live on Padel Mag TV.
Centre court: six matches with a French focus
On the centre court, the day begins at 10 a.m. with Julien Seurin and Johan Bergeron against the Spaniards German Rodriguez Quesada and Manuel Valcarcel Sanchez. On paper, this tie looks manageable for the Tricolores. Seurin and Bergeron have the opportunity to set the pace early and pave the way to the second qualification round if they consistently play to their strengths at the net and on serve.
Next up, Thomas Leygue and Javier Valdés face a clearly tougher opening test. Against Teodoro Zapata and Adrian Naranjo Martinez, a real examination awaits the Franco-Chilean pair. Leygue and Valdés must stay focused from the first point to avoid falling behind against experienced opponents.
The third match on the centre court brings wildcards Lucas Pillon and Philémon Raichman into action. They face the eighth seeds in qualification, Juan Cruz Belluati and Ignacio Sager. For the two Frenchmen, this is one of the biggest tasks of the day: against an experienced seeded pair, composure will be required from the outset.
In the fourth centre-court tie, Maxime Joris and Bastien Blanqué meet Karlos Rodriguez Vidal and Nicolas Peña Ruiz. Observers also see a match that looks achievable for the French. The key will be whether Joris and Blanqué establish their rhythm early and put their opponents under pressure.
Thomas Vanbauce, alongside Lucas Miranda Santos, then faces the Portuguese Pedro Araujo and Pedro Graça. For the Franco-Spanish wildcard, the opening match is complicated but by no means hopeless. Vanbauce and Santos must combine their individual strengths to overcome a solid Portuguese duo.
The centre-court schedule ends with the top clash between Adrien Maigret and Benjamin Tison and Pedro Perry and Miguel Lamperti. For Maigret and Tison, this is a particularly tough opening against a very experienced pair. A win remains possible if the French play aggressively and consistently from the start.
Court 2: Muesser and Hugounenq face a stern test
On court 2, the programme also starts at 10 a.m. First, Agustin Gutierrez and Salva Oria meet the seventh seeds Emilio Sanchez and Facundo Dominguez. In the second match, the French focus returns: Yanis Muesser and Arthur Hugounenq face Adam Axelsson and Rodrigo Coello Manso.
For Muesser and Hugounenq, this is a demanding opening duel against two robust opponents. The pair must bring high tempo from the start to keep pace with experienced rivals. In the third match on court 2, the sixth seeds Flavio Abbate and Alvaro Montiel Caruso meet Alejandro Merino Nieto and Guillermo Fernandez Sanchez.
Court 3: three ties without French involvement
On court 3, the day begins at 10 a.m. with an all-Spanish duel between Arturo Calzada Felici and Andres Calzada Felici and Jairo Guerrero Escarcena and Daniel Martinez Otero. In the second match, Ignacio Archieri and Victor Mena face the fifth seeds Federico Mouriño and Marc Quilez. The third match brings José Enrique Giménez Barcelona and Alex Blanco Sollet against Pedro Garcia-Consuegra Gutierrez and Juan Ignacio Franco.
The French pairs in Q1 at a glance
In total, seven French pairings are in action on the first qualification day. Alongside Seurin and Bergeron as well as Joris and Blanqué, for whom the draw looks comparatively open, several teams must deliver a top performance from the outset. Pillon and Raichman, Maigret and Tison, and Muesser and Hugounenq in particular face tough assignments.
- Julien Seurin / Johan Bergeron
- Thomas Leygue / Javier Valdés
- Lucas Pillon / Philémon Raichman
- Maxime Joris / Bastien Blanqué
- Lucas Miranda Santos / Thomas Vanbauce
- Adrien Maigret / Benjamin Tison
- Yanis Muesser / Arthur Hugounenq
For Seurin and Bergeron as well as Joris and Blanqué, the draw appears relatively favourable. For the other pairs, a strong performance in the first match will be necessary to reach the next qualification round. The pressure on French teams is high, as a home Premier Padel event rarely offers a better stage to make an international impact.
Live on Padel Mag TV
All matches in the first qualification round at the Bordeaux P2 will be broadcast live on Padel Mag TV. Fans can follow from the start which French pairs pave the way to the main draw and which favourites fall early. With so many Tricolores on court on opening day, Q1 is shaping up as a real opening fireworks display for the tournament in Bordeaux.
Sunday marks the sporting starting gun for a week of Premier Padel in Bordeaux. The answers about which wildcards spring surprises and which French doubles make the cut will come from the courts from 10 a.m.
